Actions

The action elaborated to tackle the phenomenon of sexual violence in armed conflicts has two angles:

  The angle of prevention that aims to, if not eliminate, at least make the phenomenon decrease. Yet, it should be noted that there is no specific prevention for sexual violence. This prevention is a part of larger systems as education, militaries’ formation to humanitarian law or judicial action. Indeed, the penal repression enters into this prevention as a mean of dissuasion and exemplarity.
  The angle of compensation for the physical, psychological and social damages caused by sexual violence, which can be linked or not to a penal action

In both cases, the action can take diverse forms: information to general public or specialised publics, formation of specific categories of people particularly concerned, lobbying to ministries or parliamentarians, news watch, research or methodology studies, intervention (especially medical or socio-medical) on the field, financial or technical aid, assistance to public services, etc. The following two articles give some examples of these actions.
